the orbs in nights pinball are a loose recreation of the gameplay loop of nights. Each route on a level is called a mare and you need to smash into an ideya capture (the rotating thing at the top of that mare table) and smashing it gives you an ideya (those orbs) which you need to deposit into the ideya palace (nights's gay little gazebo)

I know you said you're probably sticking to mainline but I highly encourage you to play Epic Yarn at some point. It's spinoff territory a la Canvas Curse or Mass Attack, but it's got loads of charm, a unique soundtrack compared to the rest of the series, and the main campaign can probably be finished entirely over the course of a single stream. It's peak "baby game" as far as Kirby games go but it's still a super fun time. And it has co-op! Maybe you could play it with Bella or Lark?

Yeah I’d also recommend full dark matter trilogy but maybe have a 100% sav on standby for true ending as they can be a little archaic in trying to get everything that’s required for it it’d be interesting to see your thoughts as those games had essentially little to no sakurai involvement, as opposed to super star which is obviously very sakurai

Not sure if you heard, but Doom 1 and 2 had an update on steam where they merged into one collection and added new content, a whole new episode with new demons and stuff, it looks pretty cool.

Fun fact! That new move where King Dedede puffs up is, canonically, something he learned after losing to Kirby in Dream Land 1 just so he could match Kirby's own float abilities. Poor penguin can't let that puffball outperform him. Also, it's quite neat to me that two of Kirby's biggest traditions--final bosses focused around spectacle and/or new abilities and referencing the crap out of older titles--have been around since literally the second game. Funny how you can see trends like these so early into the franchise history.

I've never been huge on the Kirby series, but this is probably my favorite of the ones I've played. The fact that it actually has some teeth to it certainly helps. Also what an insanely polished NES game. If someone told me it was a SNES game with a simpler art style, I'd probably believe it.

Has Grayfruit ever played River City Ransom? I think he'd enjoy that in that sense that it's one of the console's "real games" as he puts it.
